Itself

A Restored Portuguese Villa

“We did not build a hotel.
We simply remembered how a home is kept.”

Five Rooms · Private Villa · Quepem, South Goa

The House

Built in 1890.
Restored with
devotion.

Abilio de Sousa returned from Mozambique with the wealth of a merchant and the soul of an artist. He built this villa as a declaration — of beauty, of belonging, of Goa as it ought to be. More than a century later, his grandchildren opened its doors once more.

Five Ways to
Sleep in History

The Abilio Suite

The master suite, facing the mango grove. Four-poster bed, private bath with hand-painted azulejo tiles.

The Garden Room

Opens directly to the courtyard garden. Morning light and birdsong, every day without exception.

The Verandah Room

The original family bedroom. Terracotta floors, arched windows, and views of the paddy fields beyond.

Nothing about Casa Abilio tries to impress you. And that is precisely why it does.
